I’ve always just gone with what came out of the box, but I’ve finally started to play around with some basic features, like launchers. Over the weekend I loaded up the Microsoft Launcher on my Huawei Honor 6x, and I have to admit I love it far more than the stock EMUI launcher.
Anyother kick ass launchers to try?

I’ve used Nova Launcher for the longest time. I think it’s the closest you can get to a vanilla Android experience while granting you some pretty good customization options.

Huawei (and their sub-brand Honor) have been really killing it lately. You don’t see them too much in the US because none of the carriers have any of their phones in their line-up (I think) so you’d have to go out of your way to buy it on your own.
I bought a Honor 8 last spring for $275 brand new, unlocked.
Couldn’t be happier. Excellent build quality and ergonomics, probably the best
finger print sensor I’ve seen on a phone, and very snappy (haven’t noticed any
slow down in the 9 months or so I’ve owned it either). Spec for spec these
things are a bargain, and lately they’ve really picked it up with their build
quality too.
Seriously recommend checking them out – especially if you don’t want to be on the hook for a phone under contract anymore, or don’t want to spend upwards of $500 to buy a phone outright.

Depends on the phone. Much like Hyundai/Kia, they grew up really fast. They went from sketchy flagships (the Nexus 6P) to solid runners that can compete with the best in really short time. Huawei’s Honor brand is also overall crazy solid.
I have an Honor 8 and it’s simply the most beautiful phone I’ve ever owned. I see it as more beautiful than my iPhone 8 Plus, that’s for sure!
For a budget Honor phone? Get the 7X. It’s the best of their X series.
I wouldn’t recommend the 6X unless it were in a case with a screen protector (they are very bendy and very scratchy).
I’d get an Honor 9 if I weren’t on a PC building kick instead of collecting eye catching smart phones. It isn’t compatible with any US carrier, but it’s drop-dead gorgeous and worthy of being in my display case of beautiful phones.
I used to have an Honor 5X as well. I’d only recommend getting a new one (if such exists) as used ones will likely suffer from a failing battery or failing USB port. Again, Honor/Huawei weren’t the greatest for quality even just a few years back.

I’ve been hearing scary things about the huawei phones... namely that huawei has very close ties to the Chinese Gov’t, and the phones have chinese spyware baked into them.....
